Q: 2002 Toyota Tundra SR5 Brake Pad Question?
I have a 2002 Toyota Tundra SR5 2WD, 3.6Ltr, 6 Cyl. How do i figure out my front brake caliper casting or whether i have type A or type B brakes?
A: I have the same problem, what I usually do is remove the pads and take them to the auto parts store and compare them with the new ones, type A is supposed to be a different size than B so, just make sure the ones they give you are the exact size, if not ask for the other type, most places will let you take pads out of the box to compare sizes.
Q: How safe and reliable is the TOYOTA SR5 and the TOYOTA TUNDRA 4X4?
how did they rank? do you have experience with these? thanks
A: Tundra is one of the "best picks" from the IIHS (Insurance institute for highway safety). As for reliability, whether you check Consumer reports or any other independent resource, it has the best rating for a full-sized pickup for relaiablity with many customers getting several 100's of thousands of miles on their trucks.
Hope this helps.

Q: How do you replace the headlight assembly on a 2000 toyota tundra?
I have a 2000 toyota tundra SR5 v8. I want to replce the fogged headlights that are on there now with new ones. How do you replce the entire assembly? I have removed all screws and connections with exception of one, and I have no idea how to get to it. Can someone give me step by step directions please?
I have searched all over the net and can't find anything
A: I would recommend checking a manual for your vehicle. You can usually buy a Haynes Manual from most auto parts stores for around $20 or order a Chiltons Manual for around $50, with the Chiltons manual being a lot more detailed.
Many libraries will also carry a manual, so you may be able to check one out without having to buy one.
Q: 2003 Toyota Tundra SR5 Exhaust leak.?
I have a 2003 Toyota Tundra extended cab. It sounds like I have an exhaust leak but I don't know where it originates from. I've tried to find it, but no luck. It seems to be closer towards the front end in front of the cat. It is definitely an exhaust leak though, that much is clear. I don't want to take it in somewhere just to be taken advantage of. Any tips? Also, I've noticed, it has started to effect performance and acceleration.
A: 1 a exaust leak should not really affect acceleration unless it sooooo bad the O2 sensor is putting it into "limp home" mode
2 put wet rag into exhaust pipe while running...leak should show up better
3 no joy go to mechanic...why risk burning a valve..the new head gasget/valve job will be 1500 dollars
Q: Starting problem 2002 Toyota Tundra SR5 V8?
Trying to start the truck late this evening all it wouldn't start (started fine and was running great the day before), all I got was a clicking sound which reminded me of a starter. There is some corrosion on the battery. Though all lights come on, radio works. So the battery does seem to have a charge...
Am going to clean the corrosion of the battery tomorrow, and have the battery checked. Anyone that might have had a similar issue? Or might be able to give some tips or suggestions...
A: if all you're getting is a clicking sound, that usually means that your battery is bad. that it does not have enough amps to turn the starter. if your battery checks out good, try tapping the starter while turning the ignition. the starter is located under the intake manifold. don't know if you can get to it with a long screw driver or something like that.
good luck
Q: I currently have p265/65 r17 can i use L245/75R17 for a toyota sr5 tundra double cab?
A: You can, but I wouldn't. You would be loosing width of your tire on the road surface. I would go 265/75/17, that would make the tire a little taller, but stay the same width, for better traction..
Q: Estimated trade in value on Toyota Tundra?
I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra SR5 4 dr Access Cab truck with 42000 miles on it. I need to trade it in. The KBB lists it at $10k in "good" condition. However, it was in an accident, where frame damage was reported (and fixed at a dealership, and inspected afterward). Will this greatly affect my trade in value? How much can I expect to get?
A: probably bring down the value by $2,000
Q: What color is a White Toyota Tundra?
I have a white Toyota tundra sr5 2000 4dr v8, I need to know the specific color so I can buy touch up paint, its white, but ive heard there are different shades of white
A: It's called "Natural White". The paint code is 056 and it is done in basecoat and clearcoat. Check the yellow pages for an autobody paint supply shop that can make spray bombs. They can sometimes do a better color match compensating for any fade or color variants.
Q: Does Toyota make a ram air hood for a Tundra SR5? Where do I get it?
I am working a toyota project and looking for parts to upgrade a standard SR5.
A: I to this day do not know of a true functioning ram-air hood for Tundras. There is a decent selection of ram-air style add on scoops at website=bodykits.net. Maybe this will work if you are mainly concerned with appearance. Good Luck.
Q: Does anyone own a 2000 toyota tundra?
I need to know the size of the stock in door speakers and how much power the in-dash system puts out, I want to replace the speakers because there's a lot of rattle when i turn the bass up, what can I do to have a deep, clean sound.
2000 toyota tundra sr5 4dr
A: Replace the speakers and the Deck.
The stock Deck is not going to have enough juice to power aftermarket speakers properly.
You'll need New Speakers, a new Head Unit, and a Amplifier to get the proper AMP's to your speakers.
Go to your local Stereo Shop and just start asking questions. They will be able to offer a lot more help and point out actual units they have in the store so you can get an idea of cost, etc.
Good luck!
Q: 2001 Toyota Tundra V8 SR5?
It is loaded and has captain's chairs. I put a wood dash kit on it and a custum billet grill. I also put on clear turn signals and OEM tail lights with a clear turn signal instead of the amber. The truck is Sunfire Red and is in excellent condition. It has 69000 miles and is always garaged. I use it to pull a Coleman Caravan, which it does with ease. KBB seems too low, what should I be asking?
A: screw kbb...the dealers use nada. Normally they're higher and represent the vehicles true worth...besides that, toyota trucks will always sell for a little over what they're worth...sounds pretty...
Q: 2001 Toyota Tundra radio replacement problems?
I decided to save some money by replacing my 2001 Toyota Tundra SR5 V8 4x2 radio by myself. I have what I beleive is the correct wiring harnes, I have the mounting brackets on the new radio and a kit to take up the extra space caused by the smaller radio, but I'm not getting power to the new radio and now the old radio doesn't work when I plug that in either. Can anyone help? I would prefer not to take it to a shop when I have done so much of the work myself.
A: there is a fuse box in the engine compartment
you bur a fuse there
just replace it
good luck
Q: What does SR5 and TRD refer to when it comes to Toyota Tundra trucks?
I am looking to buy a used one and I don't know what these things refer to.
A: The SR5 means...
Originally released around 1975, the 'S' denoted Sport, 'R' denoted the RN motor code, and '5' denoted the 5-speed transmission. It quickly caught on and the SR5 connotation passed onto the Corolla and then onto other Toyota car models.
Today, the SR5 generally denotes a specifc Toyota trim level, with a more sporty look and wide flexibility for options.
The TRD means....
TRD stands for Toyota Racing Development. They are a semi-independent design, engineering, production, and marketing arm of Toyota. Working hand in hand with Toyota Motorsports, TRD produces and distributes parts that can be added to your Toyota vehicle that increases the performance, handling, looks, etc of any Toyota vehicle. Many vehicles, the Tundra included, come from the Toyota factory or distributor port with some of these TRD Parts installed. There are three offshoots of TRD. One is L-Tuned, a specific arm of TRD that handles nothing but Lexus modifications.
Lexus is the luxury arm of Toyota Motor Corporation. The other is Kazuma, which is the professional racing parts distribution arm of TRD. The third is TRD Sport Parts, which is the “common” TRD Parts distribution arm. One big side benefit to TRD parts is that if you purchase TRD parts and have a dealer install them, the parts will be covered under the balance of your manufacturer’s warranty. You can reach TRD at http://www.trdusa.com. Kazuma can be found at www.kazumaparts.com. TRD Sport Parts can be found at http://www.trdsportparts.com. L-Tuned can be found at www.l-tuned.com.
