Q: When do I need to change / replace the timing belt on my 2005 Toyota Tundra 4 Door V8 Limited truck?
At what mileage do I need to replace the timing belt on my 2005 Toyota Tundra V8 4 door Limited truck?
A: Hi, according to the two Tundra forums I checked, the timing belt needs to be changed at 90K miles intervals. Failure to do so could result in significant engine damage should the belt break while the engine is running due to valves hitting pistons. It is also recommended that if you are going to keep the truck you might want to consider changing the water pump which apparently is behind the timing belt. It is a major job to change the timing belt and if the water pump should fail at say 100K you will be spending twice the money, so maybe a good idea.
Glad I don't own one of these because someone spent $1300 to have theirs changed! My old Dodge 318 V8 Timing chain went over 200K miles before I had to change that.
Q: 2007-2009 Toyota Tundra limited edition Bed questions?
Do the Limited Edition Tundras come in Short, standard, or long bed? Do we have the option to have choose from the 3 options?
A: The bed type goes by cab configuration.
Regular cab can have either 8ft box or 6.5ft box.
Double cab can have 8ft, 6.5ft, or 5.5ft box
Crew Max can only have the 5.5ft box.
Q: toyota tundra crewmax limited ?
how much would it cost me to have the dealer put in a navigation system in my truck
A: It would be expensive to get it from Toyota. Just get a portable GPS at an electronics store (Best buy, Circuit City...).
I'm surprised you got the Limited, but you didn't get it with the NAV system.
Q: How much could I get for my 2005 toyota tundra?
I have a red 2005 tundra 2wd limited cab, v6 4.0L engine, with 33,000 miles, with minimal scratches and slight bumper damage. About how much could I sell it for.
A: Go to Kelley Blue Book.com Then you will get answer
Q: buying a brand new toyota tundra crewmax ?
im interested in buying a black 4x4 limited toyota tundra crewmax. my problem is they dont have it at any of my local dealerships. so the salesman said that he was going to look for it and give me a price. if they find it they will show it to me but only if im committed to buying it . or he said that they can order staight from the factory but i have to give a 500 hundred deposit . what can i do in this situation. i dont want to buy something i haven't seen or test drived.
A: Why cant you drive another one with the options you want? If you like it then have them find the color you want or order it.
Why are you that set on something you have never seen or driven? The Tundra isn't anything special. The Silverado is a much better truck. The all new 09 Ram comes out pretty soon too. Trucks are very competitive and the newest ones are almost always the best in class. Much moreso than cars.
Q: Toyota Tundra 2007 exhaust?
Ok, I have an '07 toyota tundra 5.7L limited luchese edition dual cab. It has all factory parts because i just got it. i mainly want to get an exhaust system for it but i'm having trouble finding the final price i'll end up spending.
i think im going to go with the flowmaster super 40 single in dual out how much would it cost to do this and what else would i have to buy to make it compatible
A: Go to a Muffler shop hey will qouate u better
Q: Specs for the toyota tundra?
We are buying a 06 tundra double cab limited 4x4 and i was wondering if anyone knows the dimensions from mirror to mirror? I know the width is almost 80 inches but they don't give mirror to mirror dimensions? or know the size of the mirrors?
A: Add about 18 more inches to that 80 inches to take into account the mirrors sticking out. So now your at 98 inches.
Q: Which 4 Door 4wd Truck would you suggest?
I am in the market for a full size truck (4 door and 4wd). I personally like the Dodge Ram, GMC Sierra and the Toyota Tundra Limited but Toyota isn't doing to well right now. I'm open for any suggestions. I would like to stay around the 2008-2010 models.
A: The Tundra is subject to recall and has become notorious for premature frame corrosion. The Toyota myth is quickly being revealed for what it is.
There are inherent benefits to each of the top 3 trucks, F-150, GM (Sierra/Silverado), and the RAM. The RAM is a terrific truck, but the biggest challenge is that Chrysler's fate is by no means secure. The best Chrysler can do is try to hemorrhage as little cash as possible until it has new products based upon FIAT platforms to sell with the hope that people will like them. At the moment, Chrysler sales are plummeting even lower than last year's worst-ever results when virtually every other maker is improving hand-over-fist. You could quickly find yourself with a new truck and no warranty, and that's not idle hyperbole.
The standard-bearer is the F-150, period. It's the world's most popular vehicle which means there will always be a plentiful supply of spare and replacement parts and a willing buyer at a reasonable price when you eventually decide to sell. When aftermarket companies make truck products, they make them for the F-150 first, because that's where the business is.
Plus, considering that Ford has pulled itself up by its own bootstraps (starting some 3 years ahead of GM and Chrysler) without going bankrupt or needing a bailout, you don't ever need to justify to yourself or anyone else why you were happy to support Ford instead of rewarding any other manufacturer by your willingness to buy their vehicles despite their irresponsibility and willingness to make better products only when it became too late.
Best of luck. I hope this helps.
Q: Ford lhas been lately referred to a not so good car brand...?
I am thinking of buying a pick up soon however, I don't find the right one for me. I want luxury but something affordable. I saw a Ford but since Ford has bad popularity lately I opted for Lincoln Mark LT. On the other hand, I saw the Toyota Tundra Limited edition and even though it has luxury it doesn't quite fit into my ideal pick up. I loved Lincoln truck once I saw it but I want to know if its a good brand and if its worth the price.
A: ford junk f.o.r.d stands for find on road dead dont buy trash
Q: 2007 Toyota Tundra?
Toyota has scheduled building a black crew max limited with the 5.7L engine that I want. I made a $500 deposit with a dealership so I can buy it as soon as Toyota delivers it to them. Toyota hasn't even built it yet, so I have lots of time to cancel my order and get a refund.
I just heard of this camshaft problem today and it turns me off of buying it in the first place. So far 20 camshafts have been broken on the new tundras and Toyota is still investigating. They have said that they will replace the entire engine if it happens while the vehicle is under warranty.
What do you think, shouldn't I just cancel my pursuit of this cool-looking truck...lol.
A: If they are sticking behind them, then what's to lose if that is the truck you want? They'll figure it out, and make it right. They have a pretty good reputation in that area.
Q: Best car or SUV to buy and best for leasing...
I am currently leasing an 06 Toyota Tundra limited. I am trying to downsize with the spike in gas prices. But, I don't want to go too small or too low.
What year and model do you recommend for leasing? If I decide to lease again I want to put as little as possible down. What make/model has great leasing deal's?
Also, what is the best car to buy for $350-400 a month, used or new. If I buy I plan to buy something that is very reliable and hold's its value.
Thanks! car shopping is NOT fun to me anymore these days...decision's, decision's.
A: For buying..
You can try 05 Acura MDX - gas mileage is 17/23, large size crossover kind of SUV. The econ slow down and gas price hits the price of this car hard that you can get one with low milage around 17/18K easily or less if you found a bargin - Like your Tundra, the dealer have to unload their off lease cars... Your budget should be able to afford.
Both Honda/Toyota are well-known for lasting forever. I will expect more on Acura/Lexus. Lexus RX is on good deal, but MDX seems to be even better deal on price as it does not have a big name as Lexus. I also heard Acura dealer are offering get finance package as 0.9/2.9 interest rate to used MDX right now...
I got mine last weekend, my only complaint is the engine is too quiet - at idle, I could not heard if it is running or not.
Q: whats better for off roading?
Whats better for off roading? A jeep grand cherokee 5.9l 4x4, or a 01 limited toyota tundra v8 4x4. My friend has a tundra and i told him my brothers jeep was better for offroading and he disagreed. so i must know. Both the jeep and the tundra are stock.
A: trust me the jeep is better, i has a better shock system and is easier to handle and more agile off road and on road. great car to drive overrall. i love it.
Q: Rav4 or Honda CRV? Which to lease?
For $500-550 down I can either get a Rav4 Sport 4 cyl or base 6 cyl for $359-389 a month. OR I can get a Honda CRV EX model for $500 down $377. The Honda price is cheaper than the Rav4, but the payment would be higher on the Honda. (Rav4 higher payment would be sport 6 cyl) So confused!!! I am trading in a 06 Toyota Tundra limited and am afraid of the 4 cyl. I didn't mind it in the CRV but felt it was a bit small for the Rav4. Please help!
A: Keep the Tundra lol.
Q: Rav4 6 cylinder or Highlander?
We were contemplating the Honda CRV (hubby thinks it's a chick car) and Rav4 6cyl (4 was too loud!) now hubby says if we are paying that much we should just go with the new highlander. I love them! I currently have a Toyota Tundra 06 limited and we wanted to get something better on gas. How is the highlander on gas though? Anyone have one? Thanks
They aren't trying to sell us the highlander, we just figure if we are paying this much for the Rav4 why not just go with it.
A: I agree with you. i know a few prospective RAV buyers that left the dealer in 4 Runners and Highlanders. It makes sense. For the price of the V6 RAV, you might as well go to the Highlander. That probably explains why the majority of RAVs sold are four cylinder even with the V6 option available now. Gas mileage won't be any better with the RAV in V6 form either. Your insurance will probably be cheaper with the Highlander too.
Q: Is this seller trying to scam me?
Hello,
I am glad that you are really interested in my car.
Regarding the price, to be honest with you...this was my brother car but he is not…anymore.I don't want to get rich by its selling, just want to give it to someone who will take good care.......
As I already said in my first email the car is currently located in UK but still registered in US, so you won't have to pay anything since it have a clear US title, no lien.
Also, the car is in perfect working condition and it was never been smoked in.
I can have it shipped from here by an US Air Force cargo plane so there won't be any additional shipping costs. Also I can arrange for a truck to transport the car to your home address or, if you like, you can pick it up from the nearest airport in your area. The shipping will take up to 7 days, depending on your location. The car will arrive with all the papers and documents required for registration and the keys. The US clear title and the bill of sale will be already signed by me.
The final price you will have to pay is $15,500. The payment must be done through eBay. Ebay Motors will work for us just like an escrow service, just that the transaction will be faster and also 100% secure for both of us. You will send them the payment, then they will let me know that the payment is OK and I can start the shipping. After the car will arrive to you and you will inspect it, you will let them know that, so they can forward the payment and complete the transaction.
If the car is not as advertised and decide not to keep it (I'm sure this will not be the case) eBay will refund you the money, no questions asked, and shipping back of the car will be my concern. I think this is fair for both of us.
Please take into consideration that I will get paid only after you receive the car and make sure everything is as agreed.
If you agree with these terms and you have the money, send me your full name and the address where you want the car to be delivered and I will initiate the transaction with eBay. You will receive all the transaction details from them.
I will appreciate an answer as soon as possible. Also, feel free to ask me any question you may have.
Thank you,
Col. Lawrence S. Reed

A: The answer is YES! We have been in contact with eBay through online chat and have been told this is a scam. We googled Colonel Lawrence S. Reed and according to them there is such a person in Lakenheath England. Don't think it would be the same person. Someone is using his name and reputation, we think!
This guy has gone as far as sending a VPP transaction case number and invoice number to my son. He even gave him a phone number which was incorrect but we managed to figure it out and got through on the phone.
We sent all the information (including phone numbers and email addresses) to eBay and let them look after it. As this guy is pretending to use the eBay name.
This Lawrence S. Reed was quiet for a couple of days and has just contacted my son. He has advised the guy "don't email me again".
You would be wise to do the same. Don't get stuck with losing your money!
