Q: Can you use the navigation system in a 2008 Toyota Sienna Limited while using the iPod line-in?
When I view photos of the 2008 Toyota Sienna Limited, it looks like you can't use the navigation system and the audio line-in at the same time. The dealer said I'll have to fold up the navigation system to use the line-in. Is this true? Does anyone have this van?

A: You can activate the the input through the connector on the rear of the radio with an iPod integration kit. The kit will also allow you to control an iPod through the controls on the radio. DICE Electronics makes a kit for the 08 Toyota Sienna http://diceelectronics.com/toyota.html.

Q: Toyota Sienna Limited?
You know how on cars they sometimes have le, se, or xle? I know that le means limited edition but my dads car actually says Toyota Sienna Limited. Whats the difference?

A: On the Toyota Siennas, the trim levels were CE, LE, XLE, and Limited. LE doesn't actually mean "limited edition" in this case. The differences between them all are really just what equipment they come with. The CE is the basic model whereas the Limited is fully loaded.

Q: Do you know if Toyota Sienna limited comes with 8 passengers?

A: I think only the CE and LE trims come with 8 passenger seating, the XLE and limited trims come with front and mid captains chairs and third row seating for 3... so 7 total.

Q: Can I operate the windows on my '07 Toyota Sienna via the key fob?
Its a 2007 Toyota Sienna Limited, and I have read some cars can and now I am wondering if mine can? Its loaded out so it has almost every feature possible. Just wondering. It would be cool. If not is there any other cool tricks I don't know about that you can do? Please answer if you know for sure. You will get 10 points for best answer!

A: With the factory keyless remote, there is not a way of rolling the widows down from outside the car. The functions on the remote are that you can lock, unlock driver's door, unlock all, open power door (s), and open power rear hatch. There are a couple of manufacturers that you can roll the windows down using the key in the door or using the remote, but Toyota is not and has not been one of them. I know for instance that Nissan's and Volkswagen's have had that function. There may be a way of setting that up aftermarket, but don't honestly know of a way from the dealership. Hope this helps. Q: My 2008 Toyota Sienna Navigation is not working?
Hello, I have a 2008 Toyota Sienna Limited and it is equipped with navigation. Today, it is not working and I have a sense it is the power because when there is no response every time I press a navigation related button. When in reverse, the camera does not turn like it usually does. When I turn on the headlamps, the buttons around the navigation only are not turned on. Can you give me advice on how to fix this problem? Thanks.

A: Yes. Take it to a Toyota garage...where unfortunately, they will promptly take you. Good luck.

Q: where can i get a Toyota navigation update for my 2006 sienna limited?
where can you get a Toyota navigation update for lease

A: The parts department at Toyota.. I wouldn't trust ebay on this one. Who knows what you'll get

Q: WHAT TO BUY: KIA SEDONA OR TOYOTA SIENNA?
SHOULD I BUY A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA LIMITED OR A 2007 KIA SEDONA EX WITH LEATHER. BOTH ARE FULLY EQUIPED AND HAVE DVD AND LEATHER AND SUNROOFS BUT NEITHER HAVE NAVIGATION. THERE IS A $5,000 PRICE DIFFERENCE AND BOTH HAVE THE SAME MILEAGE- 50k.

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here - carquotes.sinfree.net

Q: DVD output on GPS screen in 06 Toyota Sienna?
06 Toyota sienna limited with gps and dvd.....can the dvd output be routed to the gps screen? and if so, how?

A: The DVD Navigation System uses a DVD disc for the maps. The reader for the DVD for that system is not designed to be able to read/play movie DVD's. There is no way with the factory setup that I am aware of without a MAJOR amount of re-wiring and whatnot to do that. Also, there is no direct connection for the video from the DVD unit in the headrest to the front NAV system so that would entail alot more re-wiring to get any sort of video connection. It would probably be easier/cheaper to get an aftermarket system that will allow you to play DVD's if that's what you're wanting. Sorry to say. Hope this helps.

Q: Why are cars called "Limited" models if those have the most options?
Like the Toyota Sienna Limited and the Chrysler Town and Country Limited?

A: Marketing ploy to make them sound like a specialty, to say "there are a limited number of these fully loaded cars being made". Usually the production numbers are lower over base models, but nowhere near "limited" status. Bugattis, Grosser Pullman 500's, Bristol Fighters, THOSE are the truely "Limited" edition cars

Q: should i buy a toyota sienna awd or a honda odyssey?????? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!ten points for the best answer!!!?
i like the awd in the sienna limited because we travel to vermont to ski, but otherwise im leaning towards the odyssey. im concerned about the run flat tires on the sienna. ten points for best answer!!!!

A: Nobody can give you a good answer because you didn't say what model year you're considering, or anything else. Ten years ago when I compared these two :-) the sienna was the best car no question about it. Odyssey had ominous maintenance problems. Then the Sienna turned out to have a major recall for possible cataclysmic engine failure. Re-post your question with more details. Can't an Odyssey get you and your skis to Vermont?

Q: I have a limited budget for a used van. What is the best value for under $ 6000 ?
I was just told by a knowledgable person named "Wheeler", that "The Montana/Venture were the best in class for fuel but had big problems with their intake manifolds, there are two in my family and both have gone through this problem. The new Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey are big and very reliable, also very nice to drive." Do prety much ALL Montana/Ventura vehicles have this intake manifold problem ? What is an intake manifold ? What is the average cost to repair it ? What year did the Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey come out, if I'd like the oldest used one for my limited budget ?

A: The Montana/Venture will get the best gas mileage, however many of them do have the manifold problem. This problem is simple if you are a mechanic, The gasket starts leaking, if it doesn't get fixed it can cause other problems. The gasket only costs around $20 but the labor is 6 hours, at dealerships your looking at about $600. But if you do it yourself it cost about $30. This repair usually lasts 80-100 thousand miles. Now to the $6000 range, I wouldn't recommend a Sienna or an Odyssey. They are great vans but if you find one at this price it's going to be at the end of it's life. Along with the GM minivans you can find a decent Chrysler/Dodge, and a Kia at this price, It's worth it to run a Car fax and find a Mechanic to check it out before you buy it. Also Check kbb.com to find the value Good luck:)

Q: Toyota Sienna AWD?
The XLE Limited AWD comes standard with those stupid run-flat tires that nobody likes. When they need to be replaced, do you need to use run-flats again? Or can you use what you want? I know that Honda Odyssey Touring comes with the Michelin PAX which are awful, because you can ONLY use those tires because they're weird. Any help is appreciated.

A: You can put on any tire the same size just fine, but rember you will have no spair unless you put one in the van. I do not like the Runflat tires eater, they wear out in 30,000 miles.

Q: Do you use your cruise control when it's raining?
I wonder how many people know about this ~ A 36 year old female had an accident several weeks ago and totaled her car. A resident of Kinston, NC she was traveling between Kinston and Jacksonville. It was raining, though not excessively, when her car suddenly began to hydro-plane and literally flew through the air. She was not seriously injured but very stunned at the sudden occurrence! When she explained to the highway patrolman what had happened he told her something that every driver should know - NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN WITH YOUR CRUISE CONTROL ON . She thought she was being cautious by setting the cruise control and maintaining a safe consistent speed in the rain. But the highway patrolman told her that if the cruise control is on when your car begins to hydro-plane and your tires lose contact with the pavement, your car will accelerate to a higher rate of speed making you take off like an airplane. She told the patrolman that was exactly what had occurred. The patrolman said this warning should be listed, on the driver's seat sun-visor - NEVER USE THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THE PAVEMENT IS WET OR ICY, along with the airbag warning. We tell our teenagers to set the cruise control and drive a safe speed - but we don't tell them to use the cruise control only when the pavement is dry. The only person the accident victim found, who knew this (besides the patrolman), was a man who had had a similar accident, totaled his car and sustained severe injuries. NOTE: Some vehicles (like the Toyota Sienna Limited XLE) will not allow you to set the cruise control when the windshield wipers are on.

A: No, I don't use my cruise control when it's raining. The main reason is if I have to slow down, I don't want to break. It's easier to slow down by taking your foot off of the gas unlike with cruise control, I'll have to tap my break to cancel the cruise speed. And it's not good to tap your breaks in the rain because the car could skid and I don't have ABS on my 1991 Honda Accord. Your reason of not using cruise control is an important one that all drivers should know.

Q: Can you please tell me which car is better to buy?
I need a new car and i don't know what i should pick. ( I need 6+ seats) Can you tell me which one to pick: Honda Odyssey EX-L Toyota Sienna XLE or Limited Nissan Quest 3.5 SE Thank You

A: Honda Odyssey EX-L

Q: which would you buy not because of the price?
Honda Odyssey Touring w/ DVD + Navigation vs. Toyota Sienna XLE Limited AWD

A: Toyota Sienna, way better for road trips, and will have more power (year after year). But the dvd is always nice for small childern to be entertained, and with navigation you will never get lost... or spend 600 on navigation, and around 500 for a dvd player and you can have it all! best buy.com they also have in-dash displays with both gps and dvd. Good Luck!
