A: the trans dipstick is near the air box on the right side of the engine it is orange in color normally on the right side of the engine compartment. Be sure to check the level while it is running on a flat surface

Q: Will 55w H4 Razo lights work in my 2009 Toyota Matrix XRS?
I just saw a pair of Japanese aftermarket H4 RAZO headlights at my local auto shop. The headlights say that they only consume 55w or 60w (i'm pretty sure they're only 55w), but produce around 100w/110w of light. Are these lights compatible with my car? Or will they fry my harnesses? And secondly, are these even legal?

A: Have a look at the top of your headlights, there will be bulb ratings printed or stamped on there. Generally, and I mean GENERALLY! cr take H4 60/55W headlamp bulbs where im from meaning dual filaments. Ideally you want to take the bulb out and check the type and rating it is, (its printed on is it somewhere) and replace like for like ( ie if you have a n H4 55w 12v bulb adn thats what the oter one says it is your a go, otherwise get a clue or a good auto electrician. Cars are really not that complicateD! Argh i just re-read that sheit and by 55 or 60w you mean its like a standard s high low beam bulb? well have a look or call your dealer and ask what type of hewad light bulb your car takes. We dont have matrix in NZ but its prob a corolla in disguise and toytas are awesome. Wlso Why are your headlight not bright enough being a brand new car?

Q: Is there a problem when my transmission dip stick reads hot for my Toyota Matrix XRs?

A: the hot on the dip stick is the level where the fluid should be once the trans is warmed up it also has a cold mark further down the stick where fluid level should be before car is started or operated.if the fluid is dark it needs drained and filled if it is black it needs a complete flush but it is a toyota and the product speaks for itself i have worked for toyota for 20 years and matrix do not have any transmisson promblems

The A/C drain in my 2003 Toyota Matrix XRS is plugged, and I now have a pond in my passenger side floor. Where is it located, and how do I clear it? Many thanks!!

A: if you,ll look under neath the vehicle you,ll see it on the passengers side right under the heater box,there's a small hose that sticks out,and points downwards.if you,ll take a piece of wire and clean it out,being careful not to damage it,that will open it back up again,you,ll see it its there on the passengers side,and it sticks through the firewall,and points down,good luck with it.

Does anyone have this year Matrix XRS. Reason I am asking is that I have owned a bunch of cars in my life and this one has been flawless. I bought it new in 03 and I run the hell out of this car and it now has 120k+ miles on it and runs perfect. Could this be one of the most reliable cars Toyota has made or am I just lucky =P

A: that engine you have is the 2zz built from toyota in japan, so it definitely is one rare and very good engine. your lucky to have a 2zz and 6-speed manual matrix xrs. those are very rare to come by today

A: Hi(-_-) I just got a cute loaded RX this weekend and I love it! Insurance is not much more at all for full coverage and I was coming out of a Jeep 4x4, so I am not sure what that other person is talking about in regards to one style being more expensive to insure than another. ?! I donlt knw what a XRS has that the XR does not etc...Mine is a 2004 nicely loaded with cd, a/c, great paint etc only one owner and the lot was asking $17,999 but we got them down to $15,500. Check blue book value though in regards to all the extras and miles already on it , etc...Mine has 32k for the record and it looks brand new inside and out except for a few minor scratches. M

A: depends on the year. on the 2003-2006 matrix, the XRS came with a more powerful engine, a 6-speed manual transmission, and rear disc brakes. on the 2009+ models, the XRS and XR share the same engine/transmission options, but the XRS comes with larger wheels and an independent rear suspension. The XRS has never been available in AWD while the XR has. Note to US readers, the 09+ Matrix S is still called the XR in Canada. There are also some cosmetic differences in the 09+ models including the rear spoiler design.
