Q: toyota highlander?
does the highlander have 3 rows of seats? in all versions of the highlander? is there no real trunk with the 3 row of seats? and you have to put down the 3rd row to have any trunk space? does the 2nd row of seats have much leg room? or are you squashed? can you get a 2 row highlander? with more second row room? and more trunk room?

A: i just bought an '08 Highlander Sport today (taking delivery tomorrow), and whether or not it comes with 2 or 3 rows of seats depends on which trim level you choose. Here's a breakdown of the seating configurations for each trim level: Gasoline-powered models: The Highlander (base model) includes a standard 3rd-row seat with the optional "Two-Row Seating package" which replaces the extra row with an additional cargo compartment. The Highlander Sport includes a standard 3rd row seat, but there is also the option of replacing the 3rd row with the extra cargo compartment. The Highlander Limited also includes a 3rd-row seat, but there is no option to remove the 3rd row. Hybrid models: The Highlander Hybrid (base model) does not include a 3rd row as a standard feature, but this can be added as an option. The Highlander Hybrid Limited does include a 3rd row seat, and you cannot select a two-row seating package. The 3rd row seat folds flat into the cargo floor, and the cargo area is surprisingly roomy with the 3rd row folded down. However, if you have the seats up, this is reduced significantly. I'm slightly above average height (5'11") and i had no problem sitting in the 2nd row captain's chairs. I found them comfortable, and i had plenty of legroom (especially compared to my old 2003 Subaru forester!) I hope i answered your question.

Q: How do u program a key fob for a Toyota Highlander?
I broke my keyless entry remote and missplaced the other one I had. I just purchased one (not from the dealer) and need to know what do I have to do to program it? Its for a Karr alarm system. 2006 Toyota Highlander.

A: If it's a "karr" system it sounds like aftermarket crap thats you might as well just take out of the car because it's useless crap. as for the factory remote, try holding down one of the buttons (most likely Lock) while turning the key in the door lock.

Q: How can I shut off the maintenance required light on a 2006 Toyota Highlander?
I did the service on my friends 2006 Toyota Highlander but I don't know how to reset the maintenance required light. I know how to do it on a Honda but not on Toyota. Can anyone let me know? Thanks

A: TURN THE CAR ON AND MAKE SURE THAT THE MILES READ ON ODOMETER, NOT ON TRIP A OR B. TURN THE CAR OFF THEN HOLD DOWN THE ODOMETER BUTTON AND TURN THE CAR ON. RELEASE THE ODOMETER BUTTON AFTER LIKE 3 SECS. AND THEN THE GAUGE SHOULD START TO COUNT DOWN. THEN IT WILL BE CLEARED

Q: Where can I buy 2008 toyota highlander front license plate mount bracket?
I have 2008 toyota highlander, and am looking for front license plate mount bracket. I could not find them any of web.

A: Basically you may opt for a generic bracket, as this seems to be an ongoing issue with this Toyota. Try this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013HP98C?ie=UTF8&tag=technotally-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0013HP98C or this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013539HW?ie=UTF8&tag=technotally-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0013539HW or still yet this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CO7DZ4?ie=UTF8&tag=technotally-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000CO7DZ4

Q: my parents toyota highlander was crashed will the warranty cover it?
my parents just bought a 2007 toyota highlander for $35,000. they got a warranty for the car that protects against damage except for 3 minor things i forgot the other 2 but one was brakes nothing major expensive. well last night our car got hit in the rear passenger side and the tire and bumper lights and shocks were damaged. the person who hit the car fled away. will my parents warranty cover it?

A: O HELL NO. if you tryed to even ask the dealer that they would just laugh at you .

Q: What do you think about the 2008 Toyota Highlander?
I really don't like the styling on this one. Toyota must have a really plain vanilla design team for their SUV division. The new RAV4 and Highlander are just so boring to look at! I miss the concept Highlander design that they showed awhile back!

A: Its pretty good but my mom has the 2006 version

Q: Can a 2003 Toyota Highlander pull a trailer?
I am interested in purchasing a camper/trailer to reduce hotel costs when I go out of town. I have a 2003 Toyota Highlander V6 All Wheel Drive. It currently does not have a hitch, I know I would need to purchase one. Is it possible for this vehicle to safely tow a standard recreational trailer?

A: You need to find the safe tow-wieght for your SUV In addition, unless a Travel Trailer is ultra-light... then NO You need to know the weight of the camper/trailer you are going to pull for an average Travel Trailer, you need at the very least a 1/2 ton truck Most likely you MUST stay less than 3,500 It you got something very small like a teardrop travel trailer, then it might be something you could consider also, look at pop-ups, they usually weight a little less also

Q: How do you reset a 2007 toyota highlander?
I have a 2007 toyota highlander and the maintenance light is on and I was told to find the reset button, where is the button and could someone provide help with the steps. Thanks

A: See if odometer show mileages, not trip.Hold reset button down, turn ignition key on,keep holding the button down and watch mileage numbers turn into slashes and extinguishes themselves, when numbers come back,it is done.

Q: How can I protect my car from scratches from our cats? We bought a new 2009 Toyota Highlander.?
We just bought a new 2009 Toyota Highlander. We keep it in our garage every night, but we also have 4 cats that run around the garage. With our current car (a 2005 Ford Explorer), we have caught them on it, and there are scratch marks on the hood and the top of the car from them. With the new car, we will also have a sunroof, so that is also a problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

A: A 16 gauge seems to work quite well.

Q: The Toyota Highlander - how well does it handle heavy rain and snow?
I know the Toyota Forerunner does (I used to own one but it's too expensive to buy now). I am turning in my Mercedes SUV - had it for 3 years and it's just terrible in heavy rain and does not handle well at all under extreme weather conditions. Let me know how you think the Highlander will do?

A: highlander just does ok they are not great in heavy snow they do alright in light but in heavy snow they just slide and for rain as long as you are not driving too fast you should be fine. if you want a toyota i would get another forerunner or landcrusier, even if you have to wait another year to buy it it will be worth it to get the better vehicle

Q: how do i check the engine diagnostics on a 2002 toyota highlander?
i also have a 1990 toyota pickup where i can stick a pair of pliars in the diagnostic port and it flashes the check light so many times. i was wondering if i could do the same thing to the highlander and where i would put the pliars.

A: All cars 1996 and newer require the use of an OBD2 (on board diagnostics) scan tool to retrieve engine codes. Most chain parts store like Advance Auto, O'reilly Auto and Autozone will scan it for free.

Q: Is the Toyota Highlander equally as strong as the Toyota Camry?
The Toyota Camry and Toyota Highlander both have a 3.5L V6 Engine. Does this mean that they are just as strong? or perform equally as well? Thanks.

A: They do share the same platform or frame, so essentially they are "the same car with different bodies". However, they can't be directly compared for strength or performance. An SUV performs different than a car, even when that SUV is built on that car's platform. The SUV has a higher ground clearance and is taller than the car' but it actually has less cargo space than the car. It gets lower fuel economy, but it has slightly higher horsepower. You also get a higher towing capacity with the Highlander. So to compare performance, you have to identify what parameters you are wanting to compare and define what indicates the performance for that parameter as to good. http://www.toyota.com/compare/?modelCode=camry#h_overview

Q: How hard is it to change the head gasket on a 2004 Toyota Highlander (4 cyl, 2wd)?
I've changed my oil, and changed the exhaust system on a Harley I had, but that's the extent of my mechanical experience. I know it would take a long time, but how hard is it to change the head gasket on a 2004 Toyota Highlander? I have a garage so I could take a week or two if I needed to, spending 3 or 4 hours a day. Is this something I could realistically do? How long would it take, and how hard is it? I've heard it's just time consuming getting everything apart.

A: 4 cylinders are very simple to work on. IF you are lucky you can change the head without removing the timing belt or timing chain. ( I usually use a wire or strap to hold the timing gear up and tight when removed from the head.) You probably know somebody that has a little more mechanical experience that can give you some pointers. The Haynes manual is a must. Some Toytoa dealers will copy the Toyota repair pages and torque specs for you if the service manager is nice... I always am able to remove the 4 cyl head (and inline 6 cyl) with Intake and Exhaust manifold still on, it is heavier but saves a lot of problems with gaskets and bolts. BE SURE the timing is set for Top Dead Center (firing) for number one cylinder before starting or if something goes wrong it can be a major pain to get timing reset.

Q: Does anyone know a bank that will refinance 2001 Toyota Highlander?
I have a 2001 Toyota Highlander that I would like to refinance. When I bought it I was at the tail end of filing my bankruptcy so got a horrible 17% APR. It's almost two years now since my bankruptcy has been finalized and my credit score is now 670/680. Does anyone know a bank that will approve car refinancing for people in my situation? Thanks a bunch!!!

A: A bankruptcy stays on your credit report for seven years. If you are past those seven years, then you should have no problems, assuming your income and debts are no problem. Actually, many lenders now want to see at least a 700 score, but if you shop around you should be able to find one that will accept your 670, although the interest rate might be a little higher than normal -- 10%-12%. Another potential probem: If you are upside down (owe more than your car is worth), lenders won't refinance you for the amount you still owe, which means you would have to come up with cash to make up the difference.
