Q: I have a toyota camry sedan se 1987 make. It now makes some sound from engine/ piston side.?
I have a toyota camry sedan se 1987 make. It now makes some sound from engine/ piston side. Is it a bad piston ring? Also small smoke coming out from back of engine after running 8-10 kms and resist to start again until gets cooled. What might be the problem?

A: A compression check which is relatively cheap should give you an answer. It can identify bad rings or bad valves. You didn't say how many miles or kilometers are on the car. It may be due for an engine overhaul depending on how it has been used. While this may seem expensive, it is usually no more than 4 or 5 months of car payments if you bought new.

Q: Do the 07 and 08 Toyota Camry SE have the same body design?
What are the difference between the 07 and the 08 Toyota Camry SE?

A: Exactly the same. You cannot tell an 07 apart from an 08 or 09. From your friendly Toyota Salesperson :)

Q: I have a 2007 toyota camry se, i have 15000k miles on the car and my tires are worn out.?
It is normal for my tires to ware out this early. Should i go back to toyota and talk to them or just buy new ones. The car comes with summer performance tires.

A: Most likely your alignment is off center. If you are serious about the problem take it to a bodyshop, but pick a well rated or popular one or they can seriously mess your car up. Hope this info helps.

Q: How much money would it take to make 2010 Toyota Camry SE 2.4L have over 250 HP?
How much money and what has to be done?

A: 250+ hp is definitely possible out of those motors for the 10 model year they are already producing over 175 hp. The real question is how much of it you are doing yourself and what kind of budget you are looking to do it with. There is no doubt that you could put 3500-4000 in it and turn every bit of 275hp. You must also be mindful of the installation cost if you are planning to have a shop install the parts and do the tuning. this can run you anywhere from 1500 to 2000 dollars depending on the hop for the simple fact that most will not attempt a job like this for sheer liability's sake, which means the ones that will understand that they are a rare breed and they charge a premium because of it. If you would like to take the road less traveled and go naturally aspirated then it is still possible to achieve these kinds of numbers it just takes more elbow grease, and a lot less money. You can install a reputable exhaust system and net somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-20 hp. Next install a CAI and this will gain roughly 8-10 similar to the scion tc which is a sister vehicle to the camry in the motor dept. at least. An upgrade to the ignition system such as a multiple spark discharge system and a performance chip can make close to the same power and torque without experiencing the turbo lag that would happen otherwise and these gains are all tunable repeatedly where as the boost that a turbo produces is a lot harder to adjust than just plugging it into a laptop and modifying the EP-ROM for timing and a/f ratio. Also if you purchase tuning software you can modify the setup to increase fuel economy over straight out power which is nice given the current state of the economy you can still have your daily driver commuter car and run an algorithm and stop a mud hole in someone at a stop light and they never even know the difference. Like I said though it is all a matter of budget hp desired and the configuration that you desire each has its drawbacks and pluses but they are both very viable solutions to your question. Hope this was helpful

Is there an OEM starter repair kit? Do you happen to know the part number?

A: Yes and it's cheap. ($12) You can find it here: http://www.partsgeek.com/gbparts/1994/toyota/camry/starter_contact_set/oes_genuine.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=ff&utm_term=1994+Toyota+Camry+Starter+Contact+Set+-+XLE+-+Fr%3A09-00-93+-+MCV1+-+3.0L+V6+-+OES+Genuine&utm_content=ymmbp_n&utm_campaign=PartsGeek+Google+Base

I am looking for 07 Toyota Camry SE V6 with navigation and cloth seat. What should be reasonable price. Car dealers in Charlotte, NC area give me way high price. Please help.

Q: What gas should I use for a 2007 Toyota Camry SE 4 cylinder?
-Unleaded regular -Unleaded plus -Unleaded supreme Please keep in mind that it's a 4 cylinder engine.

A: Regular. The engine does not require a higher octane rating, and using a higher octane rated gasoline, which only protects against engine ping (it doesn't magically give your car more power), would only be a large waste of money. Your owner's manual will state what grade gasoline it requires, as well.

Q: Should I buy the Toyota 2007 Camry SE?
Looking at buying a Toyota Camry SE with the navigation system. I've read a lot on line about transmission issues especially between 3rd and 4th gear. I wonder if this has to do more with the 4 cyl (I'm looking at 6). Any thoughts?

A: hey doane_nut... you do realize the reason toyotas are becoming worse is because certain models are manufactured in the US, right? You'll never see them have Lexus assemble cars here. BTW: Yes, go buy an american car (the definition of junk). As for the original poster... spend that money instead on an Acura TSX w/ Navi.

Q: What is capacity of the fuel tank of 1996 Toyota Camry SE?

A: The Toyota Camry Owner's Manual says your Fuel Tank Capacity is 18.5 gallons. Hope the Above Info Helps!

Q: 1993 toyota camry se has vibration above 55 mph whats wrong?
I have had this vehicle to 5 different machanics it has new rear front control arms, wheels balanced, front axel, bearings, alignment, seems like it's coming from front passanger side of vehicle any suggestions?

A: Could be a lot of things. My first guess would be that it needs its tires balanced. I had the same problem, and thats what fixed it for me. But you said that they have already been. So my next guess would be new CV shafts and joints. Could be that you just need some new struts, it hard telling. If I was you my first move would be to find a mechanic that knows what hes doing.

Q: I purchased a new 2010 Toyota Camry SE monday jan 25th. Now the sale of this car is suspended. what do i do ?
When buying my new Toyota I asked about the gas pedal problems and was told it was no major concern. It seems it was a big enough concern to halt the selling of this car.

A: It is a very big concern and it is not the floor-mat causing the problem. Check out: http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/RunawayToyotas/toyota-suspends-sales-models-accelerator-pedals-sticking/story?id=9669621 You'll find lots of information...including a story of four people killed when the car accelerated and the floor mat was found in the trunk (exactly where Toyota instructed owners to put them in a letter). Makes me sick that I'm driving a brand new 2010 Camry XLE. How many people are going to have to die before Toyota takes preventive measures to protect owner's of the cars being effected by the acceleration problem? Toyota should require every effected model be returned to a Toyota dealership and owner's be temporarily put in a vehicle that is safe until the exact cause is determined and a solution implemented.

Q: If you had a choice between a 2008 Toyota Camry SE 4 cyl and a 2007 Toyota Camry XLE V6 for the same price...?
Which would you choose?

A: I would personally go for the V6!! But you would save in gas with the 4 cyl. But I bet the 2007 has more amenities too!! I would go with the 07'!!

Q: What would be a better Spark Plug for my 2008 Toyota Camry SE 4 Cylinder?
I have 60,000 miles and looking for fuel economy and performance.. I'm looking into Denso IR POWER, NGK Iridium IX, and Bosch Iridium Fusion.. Any Suggestions or recommendations? The car is already equiped with Denso Iridium long life..

A: Why would you change? Do you think the engineers at Toyota - you know, the room full of guys with automotive engineering degrees - know less about what works well in your car than strangers on the internet? You will never have a problem with your spark plugs if you use the same type that the engine was designed to use. When you start switching to such-and-such brand with the big advertising budget, that is when you start having problems. I've replaced hundreds of fancy and expensive aftermarket plugs that made cars run like crap and replaced them with OEM plugs which made the car run fine. Stick with the Denso's that came in the car for best performance.

Q: How do I turn on the fog lights on a 2007 Toyota Camry SE?

A: There is a small ring on the headlight/turn signal arm. You turn it to put the fog lights on. When you do that, the high beams switch back to low. I like ours for night driving in the rain since you can see the fog line better.
